Critique
Camarasauromorpha, a node-based group with similar taxonomic content, to the stem-based taxon Macronaria (Wilson and Sereno 1998), was named by Salgado et al. (1997), who only used node-based defintions. Macronaria is stem-based and party to a node-stem triplet. Although Camarasauromorpha is not the same taxon as Macronaria, it does not differ in current taxonomic content and has not gained current usage. However, Upchurch et al. (2004) elected to define a node-based Camarasauromorpha for the least inclusive clade containing Camarasaurus and Saltasaurus, which excludes some basal macronarians.
