Critique
Deinocheirosauria was proposed by Barsbold (1976:75) for the families Deinocheiridae and Therizinosauridae.  These taxa, however, have not been shown to be closest relatives.  As a result, the taxon was never adopted by later taxonomists and has not been defined.

It should be noted that when Deinocheirosauria, Oviraptorosauria, and Ornithomimosauria and  were first coined by Barsbold (1976), he appended “Barsbold 1974” to the new taxa.  His bibliography, however, did not include any publication of this date naming these taxa.  Later (Barsbold 1983) corrected the date of these taxa to his 1976 publication.
