Critique
This taxon was erected by Brown (1914), and subsequently used by Steel (1969) to encompass Prosaurolophus, Brachylophosaurus, Saurolophus, and Tsintaosaurus. Horner (1992:119) most recently used this taxon to include three genera (Kritosaurus, Saurolophus, Prosaurolophus). There has long been consensus that Saurolophus and Prosaurolophus are closely related (e.g. Brown, 1914) and less agreement on the inclusion of Kritosaurus or other genera. No definition has been proposed, but a definition is given elsewhere for a tribe-level taxon (see Saurolophini) that would be appropriate for a subclade of Hadrosaurinae.
