Comments
A number of authors found a sister group relationship between Dicraeosauridae and Diplodocidae within Diplodocoidea, excluding other diplodocoids. Harris and Dodson (2004) named this clade and gave it a node-based definition. The active definition is a first-order revision of that definition that uses species rather than genera as specifiers. Flagellicaudata anchors a node-stem triplet that includes Dicraeosauridae and Diplodocidae.
