Critique
Euiguanodontia is regarded as an inactive taxon here because the original definition included Gasparinisaura cincosaltensis, a basal ornithopod of uncertain affinities, as a specifier. Thus, Coria and Salgado (1996) regarded this species as an iguanodontian, whereas others regard it as no more advanced than several hypsilophodotids (Weishampel et al. 2003). Because Euiguanodontia is node-based as initially defined, it cannot be a junior synonym of stem-based Euornithopoda or Iguanodontia. However, it may completely overlap with either of these in taxonomic content, depending on the phylogenetic position of the Gasparinisaura cincosaltensis.
