Comments | The active definition is a first-order revision of that in Sereno (1998). Dromaeosaurid species are now quite numerous, and this taxon is useful as long as it includes more than the eponymous genus and species. Given the lack of resolution in current analyses, especially with respect Dromaeosaurus, and the large number of well preserved species, three additonal external specifiers are included (Microraptor zhaoianus, Unenlagia comahuensis, Passer domesticus) to limit membership and prevent overlap with comparable subfamilial taxa within Dromaeosauridae.
