Critique
Chasmosaurinae is the more popular name for this subfamily of ceratopsids. Ceratopsinae has priority both in terms of its eponymous genus (Ceratops montanus Marsh 1888) and as a taxon with a phylogenetic definition (Sereno 1998; see Ceratopsinae).  Chasmosaurinae, therefore, is not used here. Although not required, an active definition should have employed Chasmosaurus (rather than Triceratops) in any case.
