Critique
Huene (1948) erected this monotypic family-level taxon to include the Egyptian Bahariasaurus. The type material came from a quarry that included bones that overlap well with Deltadromeus from contemporary beds in Morooco (Sereno et al., 1996). However, the material identified as the holotype does not include any diagnostic material and may prtain to more than one species. As a result, the name Bahairiasaurus and the taxon on which it was based have been abandoned.
